Dear Reader, I recently launched something I've wanted to offer for a long time. It brings together two practices I deeply enjoy, and it speaks to something many of you bring up: the technical world tends to forget about the human running the system.

The Big News: In-Person Reiki Sessions

I'm now offering in-person Reiki (pronounced ray-key) sessions, designed for the people I know best: engineers and leaders in tech.

For anyone unfamiliar with the Japanese term, Reiki is energy work for stress reduction and relaxation that promotes healing. It breaks down like this:

Rei = Universal

Ki = Life Force

You don't have to believe in energy fields to get something out of this (but if you're an engineer, you already do).

Reiki is practiced in more than 800 US hospitals. In one NIH study, a single session significantly lowered patient ratings of pain, fatigue, anxiety, stress, sadness, and agitation, while ratings of happiness, energy, relaxation, and calmness significantly increased.

What you're really getting in one of my sessions is 60 minutes where your body shifts out of fight-or-flight, so you leave calmer than you arrived.

Our industry often treats rest as unproductive, and I think it's time we saw ourselves differently. Call or message me to schedule a session. With love, Emily
