WHO WE ARE
Emily Honor Hubbard founded Empathic Engineering after a decade of watching the same pattern repeat: technical expertise trapped below the level where decisions get made.
On a cross-border US-Mexico project, her best engineers stayed quiet meetings in English, then, speaking Spanish, solved the problem among themselves in minutes once the meeting ended. The capability was there, but the structure kept it from reaching decision-makers.
Emily saw the same dynamic in a later US manufacturing role, transitioned to teach in outdoor experiential education, and returned with the conviction shaping this approach: how manufacturing companies train leaders determines what their operations can achieve.
Empathic Engineering partners with manufacturing and technology companies on consulting, continuous improvement strategy, and leadership development to help operations leaders surface what their teams already know and build problem-solving strength that holds up when conditions change.
AI is closing the gap in direct language translation. Empathic Engineering closes a harder one. With deep human understanding, we helped one company increase annual revenue by $12.5 million by aligning what the team knows with how leaders execute.
Our team is here to help find your biggest opportunity for growth.

MISSION
We help manufacturing and technology companies turn good strategies into lasting results. Through consulting, continuous improvement work, and leadership development, Empathic Engineering builds the operational discipline and human capability that performance depends on.
VALUES

01
Results that outlast the engagement.

We measure success by what continues after we leave.

02
Honest over comfortable.

We deliver hard observations directly and respectfully, because polite vagueness wastes your time and money.

03
People are the system.

Operational performance depends on human behavior, capability, and trust, so we develop both the process and the people running it.

04
Earned authority.

We bring methodology and outside perspective; your team brings expertise we'll never match. We work alongside your people and adjust when their knowledge proves us wrong.

PERSPECTIVE
After co-authoring Development of Empathy in a Rehabilitation Engineering Course, Emily Honor Hubbard learned to apply the five phases of empathic response to benefit teamwork in high-stress environments.
This framework is what allows us to coach leaders through high-stakes change, difficult conversations, and the human side of operational transformation in ways that generic consulting can't.
